This small thick antique Mani obviously proved difficult to forge as its walls are lumpier and less refined than larger examples.  However, it share all the same features of this old bowl form and they are well defined…grooved lip, banding below the rim and around the belly, and circles at its centre.

  

 

This particular bowl is in its ‘as found’ condition.  It sings a high sixth octave D that varies from 1170Hz to 1185Hz when struck or played. 

 

Antique Mani bowls are generally thought to be between 200 and 400 years old and are now very rare. 

 

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl mat and a ringer are included in the price.
