Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl.  A3 & Eb5 Notes (Third Eye & Solar Plexus Chakras)

This is a small antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a good third octave A (216Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a fifth octave Eb (611Hz) if a wooden ringer is used.  A double-ended suede and wood ringer is included in the price.

This is a good quality Manipuri bowl of average weight for its size and with nice decorative features. 

There are several concentric circles at its centre including a band of sun motifs (punched dots surrounded by circles) and some incised lines high up on the inner wall.  The rim is prettily decorated with suns.

This old bowl is in excellent structural condition, and basically clean, but there are some mottled surface stains in the centre of the bowl and this cosmetic issue accounts for the price reduction.
