Small Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl – C4 & F#5

Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl.  C4 & F#5 Notes (Root & Heart Chakras)

This is a small antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a good middle octave C fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a fifth octave F# if a wooden ringer is used.  A double-ended suede and wood ringer is included in the price.

This is a good quality Manipuri bowl of average weight for its size but with lots of nice decorative features. 

There are several concentric circles at its centre including a band of sun motifs (punched dots surrounded by circles) and a pair of incised lines high up on the inner wall.  The rim is decorated with suns, and there is a series of ritual gashes at intervals below the outer rim.

This old bowl is in excellent structural condition and has an attractive dark bronze colour.
