Small Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl – B4 Note

Antique Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl.  B Note (Crown Chakra)
Weight 11oz (308g).   11 x 5.5 cm (approx. 4 ½ x 2 ¼ inches)

 

A small and nicely-proportioned 19th century Thadobati Singing Bowl with a pretty mid octave B fundamental whether struck or played around the rim.  This little bowl, with its high-sided wall and flat bottom, sits comfortably in the palm of the hand and has just sufficient weight to keep it from rotating when playing.  It is very responsive and quick to sing.

 

The bowl is clean and structurally sound, and features a decorative border of little gashes around the outer rim.

 

Altogether a very nice older bowl!   A small silk brocade Tibetan bowl cushion and double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
