Small Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl – C#5 Note
SOLD
Antique Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl. C#5 Note (Root Chakra)
Weight 11 ¾ oz (331g). 12 x 5.5 cm (approx. 4 ½ x 2 ¼ inches)
This small antique Thadobati singing bowl probably dates from the 19th century and is quite heavy for its size, with walls that are thicker than usual.
There is a decorative band of punched dots encircling the outer wall below the rim, but any other decorative features it may once have had have been worn away with the passage of time.
The fundamental note is a high fifth octave C# whether struck or played around the rim with a wooden ringer.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
