This is a small and exceptionally well-made antique Thadobati Singing Bowl. Everything about this little bowl reflects its quality…from its extra thick and gracefully curved walls, deeply grooved lip and generous decoration, to its excellent singing voice!
This is a responsive little bowl that fits snuggly into the palm of the hand, and is a joy to hold and play. The fundamental note is a fifth octave D whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with wooden ringer.
I believe this to be an older bowl, 19th century or even earlier. It is structurally sound, virtually blemish free, and in excellent condition for its age. It has the patina, look and feel of age, and would make a perfect gift for someone special!
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
