Small Carved Horn Shaman Phurba (Ritual Dagger)
Length: 19cm (7 ½ inches)
This is a charming small carved horn Jhakri or shaman’s phurba (ritual dagger) from Nepal. The hilt features a praying shaman with a mala necklace and belt. The figure kneels on an endless knot cushion, below which is a carved makara (mythical sea creature) with huge eyes, and a rounded blade with a patterned surface.
The entire phurba has been finely carved and is sensually smooth and a delight to hold. It is in perfect condition, but its age is unknown.
A nice example of a carved horn shaman phurba used for transformation, healing and protection.
