This is a small antique Jambati singing bowl in a popular size and weight…light enough to be held and played for an extended period without tiring, yet large enough to produce a beautifully low 3^rd octave note, a nice D (147Hz) when struck or played around the rim with a ringer.  The rim begins as a D3 with an A4 (435Hz) harmonic until the latter comes through. 

This 19^th century bowl is structurally sound, lightly stained in places and unpolished.  However, it’s still a nice little bowl, and at this price represents good value. 

A small inscription on the outer rim is a relatively recent addition as the surface has not yet been worn smooth).  A ringer is included in the price.
