Antique Naga Singing & Healing Bowl. Bb6 Note (Crown Chakra)
Weight 15 oz (421g). 10.5 x 7 cm (approx. 4 x 2 ¾ inches)
This small antique Naga singing and healing bowl has an incredible voice…an extraordinary powerful and penetrating high sixth octave Bb with a long pulsating sustain. It’s hard to believe that such an amazing sound can come from something so small! Furthermore the note is very close to concert pitch.
The incredible sonic properties of this little bowl were clearly recognized by at least two of its previous owners who felt moved to cover much of its outer surface with inscriptions. Indeed I have never known a bowl of this size to be so highly inscribed and decorated.
There are two large inscriptions which together encircle the entire bowl…one of them extending to a second line. The first inscription is set between 2 drawn fishes, while the second is set between two large drawn (dot-punched) peacocks. Very few singing bowls carry inscriptions, and their presence is usually confined to older bowls of exceptional quality. Their appearance confirms the importance of a bowl to a previous owner, and raises its status above the norm. Inscriptions always add interest and value to a bowl.
The bowl itself is structurally sound and in good condition. It is very well made, and thicker and heavier than normal for this type of bowl. A small double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
A unique and fabulous little bowl! Buy it quickly, before someone else snaps it up!
