Weight 1.14 kilos (2lb 8 ½ oz). Size 22 x 10 cm (approx. 8 ½ x 4 inches)
This relatively small superior quality antique Jambati Singing Bowl has a fabulous third octave fundamental A (216Hz) when struck with a padded mallet and concert pitch A3 (220Hz) when played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to an excellent fifth octave E (670Hz) when a wooden ringer is employed.
This well-proportioned and finely forged bowl also has considerable aesthetic appeal with hammered walls that have been attractively worn smooth by years of handling and cleaning. It has a lovely golden bronze colour and is structurally sound and virtually free of stains.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a ringer are all included in the price.
Listen: (2 struck notes and 2 played notes, suede ringer then wood)
