This is a small-to-medium extra-thick antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a nice middle octave G# voice.  The note is the same whether struck or played.  It’s a responsive bowl, and its size and weight makes it ideal for playing around the rim for an extended period without tiring.

 

This is a 19th century bowl is heavy for its size, and its thick walls would have been difficult to forge.  It has the characteristic high-sided walls and flat bottom of a typical Thadobati bowl of the period.  There are concentric circles at its centre and sun motifs may once have decorated the lip, bit all that remains now are the centre spots.  There is also a decorative band of punched dots just below the outer rim.  The bowl is in very good condition for its age; being clean and largely free of stains and blemishes.

 

A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
