This fabulous 12½-inch Antique Jambati Singing Bowl comes from Bangladesh and is a true work of art.  Virtually the entire outer surface has been exquisitely and deeply hand-engraved with a beautiful geometric floral and fern motif based on a traditional carpet design.   It probably took a highly skilled artisan several months to complete the work. 

The fundamental struck note is a really lovely Perfect Pitch third octave C#3 (137/8Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.

This old bowl has been superbly forged and is structurally sound and in excellent condition.  There are circles at its centre. 

Carved Bangladeshi bowls are extremely rare and difficult to source, and always command a high price when available.  I managed to secure a few superb examples that will sell in a matter of days, so be quick if you are tempted.
