This is an exceptionally large and heavy antique Mani singing bowl of superior quality. It is in superb condition for its age (circa 18th century) and has wonderfully bold decorative features inside and out, including a wide inward-facing grooved lip, concentric circles at its centre, multiple boldly incised lines forming a decorative collar around the rim, and also around the belly.
This bowl is particularly responsive and easy to play. It has an excellent and very powerful F#5 voice that is close to concert pitch (+15 cents).
A stunning example of its type…as good as they come!
