Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. G#2 Note (102Hz) Throat Chakra
Weight 3.04 kilos (6 lb 11 ¼ oz). Size 32 x 15.5 cm (approx. 12 ½ x 6 inches)
This large and very heavy antique Jambati singing bowl has a fabulous and rare low second octave G# fundamental with a frequency of 102Hz when struck with a padded mallet. The rim note is the same low G2 with subtle G3 (202Hz) and powerful Eb4 (310Hz) harmonics that can be brought to the fore with a suede ringer. A wooden ringer will also bring out an Eb5. It will also produce fountains if played with a little water inside.
This lovely deep-bodied bowl is in excellent and clean condition inside and out. Decorative features are typical of this bowl type and include circles at its centre and incised lines forming a collar around the outer rim.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
