This is a superb large antique Jambati Singing Bowl with an extremely uncommon and low second octave A2 fundamental, made all the more rare because it is also perfect concert pitch (110Hz) with a gentle pulse and a nice sustain.  The note is the same whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a ringer.

This large well-forged antique bowl has classical Jambati features – a gracefully curved full body, triangulated lip, circles at its centre and decorative bands around the rim.

It is in excellent structural condition, clean and free of stains and blemishes, and has a dark matt bronze colour.

A Tibetan silk brocade cushion, a padded striker, and a suede ringer are all included in the price.
