This wonderful large antique Jambati Singing Bowl is supplied in its ‘as found’ condition, with all its patina, grime, and history intact.  This is what many old bowls look like when they are first found, and before the Himalayan traders and antique dealers clean them up. Personally, if the sound is good, I like them like this.

It has an excellent third octave D fundamental (144Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.

This is a top quality antique bowl; structurally sound and well preserved despite the rich patina acquired during its lifetime.   It is well proportioned and heavy, with a smooth triangulated lip, and decorative bands encircling the outer rim.  The circles at its centre have been worn away with the passage of time.

A large, authentic, and characterful bowl with an excellent voice!
