Weight 1.42 kilos (3 lb 2 oz). Size 25 x 11 cm (9 ¾ x 4 ¼ inches)
This superb antique Jambati Singing Bowl has two glorious voices…a lovely third octave B (252Hz) with a pronounced pulse and a long sustain when struck with a padded mallet. The rim note is the same when played with a suede ringer, but changes to an excellent fifth octave F# (755Hz) with a wooden ringer.
This bowl has a gracefully curved wall and a wide triangulated inward-facing grooved lip. There are decorative circles at its centre, and around the outer rim. The structural condition of this antique Jambati bowl is excellent, and it is clean and stain-free. It has attractive exterior hammer markings and a golden bronze colour.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, padded mallet, and a ringer are all included in the price.
Listen: (2 struck notes and 2 played notes, suede then wood ringer)
