Ultabati Singing Bowl. Notes Bb2 & E4 . Crown & Solar Plexus Chakras
Weight 1.09 kilos (2 lb 6 ¾ oz). Size 24 x 11 cm (9 ½ x 4 ¼ inches)
This medium-size antique Ultabati Singing Bowl has lots of aesthetic appeal with its beautiful matt copper-verdigris outer surface and glowing golden interior. Its fundamental note is a low concert pitch second octave Bb (117/8Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a good E4 (323/4Hz) if a wooden ringer is used.
This bowl is relatively light for its size, and therefore comfortable to hold and play for an extended period. It has the distinctive Ultabati caldron-like form with a subtly scooped collar and an out-turned downward-sloping lip. There are decorative circles at its centre. It is structurally sound, clean and stain-free.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
