Superb Rare Large Antique Remuna Singing Bowl – Perfect Pitch F#3 & 2 Inscriptions

This is possibly the finest rare antique Remuna Singing Bowl I have come across…with its unusual decorated wall, two inscriptions, and a superb perfect pitch F#3 fundamental. It is responsive and easy to play and has a strong pulse. The note is the same whether struck or played around the rim with a suede ringer.

This is an unusually rare large Remuna bowl. Dating from the 1800s it has a fine even wall with a graceful curve. The lip is perfectly even. There are circles at its centre and possible evidence of a large internal inscription that is now too faint to be certain. There is a lovely dot-punched border of flowers and foliage encircling the outer rim ( the first I have seen on a Remuna), bounded by a line below which are two inscription, one almost above the other, and believed to have been made at different times. There are also decorative lines encircling its belly. It is clean and structurally sound.

Virtually all Remuna bowls have lovely voices, and this is no exception.  A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a ringer are included in the price.
