Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Note: C4 (Root Chakra)

Weight: 1.33 kilos (2 lb 15oz).  Size: 20 x 10 cm (8 x 4 inches)

This is a substantial and rare early 19th Century high-wall Lingam Singing Bowl.  Its thick even walls would have been a challenge to forge so perfectly and the craftsmanship it second to none!   It has a triangulated sheered and grooved lip, and two decorative bands of tiny dots encircling the outer rim.   The Lingam at its centre is surrounded and defined by two sets of decorative circles, and there is a matching yoni or navel underneath.

It has a fabulous middle octave C4 fundamental (268Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede or wooden ringer.

This ancient Lingam bowl looks its age and will be supplied ‘as found’.  It is structurally sound and has the most glorious colour and aged patina that has been built up with handling and playing over its lifetime.

An exceptional and wonderful example of this very rare bowl form…a highly collectable treasure!

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
