This small and beautifully forged antique Lingam Singing Bowl dates from around 1800.  Everything about this little bowl is nice…it’s quality, its looks, its voice, and the way it feels in the hand!

It has a very pretty shape…a smallish flat bottom with a deep central navel, a gracefully curved wall, and a wide, grooved, and inward facing lip.  And at its centre is a lovely mounded lingam surrounded by a single incised circle.

This may be a small bowl but it packs a big voice…a powerful fifth octave A with a frequency of 862Hz when struck, and 864Hz when played around the rim with a wooden ringer.  Its flat bottom prevents it from rotating in the hand, and it’s a delight to play.  A ringer is included in the price.

This lovely antique bowl is in excellent condition, clean and free of blemishes.
