Superb Tibetan Jambati Singing & Fountain Bowl – Concert Pitch C
SOLD
Antique Jambati Singing and Fountain Bowl. C#3 Note (Root Chakra)
Weight 4 lb 10 ¼ oz (2.1 Kilos). 27 x 13.5 cm (approx. 10 ¾ x 5 ¼ inches)
This is a large fine quality antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a beautiful full-bodied form and a stunning voice with subtle harmonics.
The fundamental note is a superb low 3rd octave C# that is virtually concert pitch whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The played note has a long and beautiful sustain after the ringer is lifted from the bowl. This bowl will also produce splashy fountains if played with a little water inside.
This old bowl is extremely well forged, with thick regular walls, a strong triangulated lip, and a finely decorated incised collar. It has a subtle matt golden bronze colour with nice hammer markings, and is in an excellent state of preservation with barely a mark or blemish inside or out
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a heavy teak and suede ringer, and a padded mallet are all included in the price.
