Superb Tiny Decorated Antique Naga Singing Bowl – Powerful G#6

Weight 10 ¾ oz (306g).   9.5 x 6 cm (approx. 3 ¾ x 2 ½ inches)

 

This is a superb tiny antique Naga Singing and Healing Bowl with a powerful and penetrating voice, a very high sixth octave G#.

 

Apart from its splendid voice this little bowl has a very unusual decorative feature in the form of downward-facing triangles placed at intervals, like bunting, around the outer rim just below the more common decorative banding.   These triangular patterns are composed from sun motifs (dots within circles),  They are believed to have a symbolic or ritual significance and are sometimes found on older Thadobati bowls, but very rarely on Naga pedestal bowls.

 

This Naga singing bowl is in excellent condition, clean and free of stains and blemishes.  A little gem!  A small double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
