Weight 4 lb 11 ¼ oz. (2.14 kilos). Size 27.5 x 12 cm (10 ¾ x 4 ¾ inches)
This is a large superior quality 10 ¾+” antique Jambati Singing Bowl dating from around 1800 with a wonderful voice – a deep perfect pitch pulsating second octave G# (103Hz) accompanied by a lovely middle D (299Hz) when struck or played around the rim. Its vibrant finely hammered smooth wall enables the OM sound if desired, and it will also produce fountains if played with a little water inside.
This fabulous versatile bowl has a gracefully curved form, a sheered lip, circles at the centre, and a faint decorative band around the outer rim. It is in excellent structural condition, clean and stain-free, with a deep golden bronze colour.
A Tibetan silk brocade cushion, a padded striker, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are all included in the price.
