Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes: C3 & G4 (Root & Throat & Chakras)
Weight 1.65 kilos (3 lb 10 ¼ oz). Size 27 x 13 (10 ½ x 5 inches)
This is a large 10½” superior quality Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a fabulous virtually concert pitch third octave C3 (129Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a concert pitch middle G4 (392Hz) with a wooden ringer.
This lovely bowl has the classic Jambati form with a neat triangulated lip and decorative circles at the centre and bands around the rim. Unusually for a Jambati, there is a small incised inscription set between the bands, a fair indication of the high esteem in which the bowl was held by a former keeper.
This superbly crafted bowl is in excellent structural condition, clean and free of stains, and with a bright golden bronze colour.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, padded striker, and 2 ringers are included in the price.
