Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes: C3 & G4 (Root & Throat Chakras)
Weight 2 lb 10 ½ oz. (1.21 kilos). Size 23 x 10.5 cm (9 x 4 inches)
This is a superior quality medium-size antique Jambati Singing Bowl with and excellent third octave C fundamental and a G4 harmonic. The struck note is C3 (133Hz). The rim note is the same lovely C3 when played with a suede ringer, but accompanied by a hint of the G4 (400Hz) harmonic. The rim note changes to G4 if played with a wooden ringer. This is a very responsive and easy to play bowl.
It has finely hammered even walls, a sheered and slightly triangulated lip, circles at its centre and decorative bands forming a collar around the outer rim. There is a nice engraved inscription set within the bands…a fair indication of the high esteem in which a previous keeper held this bowl.
It is in excellent structural condition and free of stains and blemishes.
A Tibetan silk brocade cushion, a small padded striker, and a ringer are all included in the price.
