This superior quality medium size antique Manipuri Singing Bowl is perfectly proportioned.  It has a slightly flared wall and features a wide triangulated grooved lip. There are circles at its centre and multiple decorative bands encircling the outer rim.

 

 

The fundamental note is a middle octave E4 (327/8Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a wooden ringer.  A fifth octave B5 (274Hz) harmonic is also subtly present.

 

This lovely Manipuri bowl is in excellent structural condition.  It is clean and free of blemishes and has a bright golden bronze colour.

 

It would make a very nice gift!
