This superlative rare golden Antique Lingam Singing Bowl is one of the last of its kind, and I doubt you will ever see another like it outside of this website and my personal collection.  It is one of a number of similar wonderful bowls that I acquired from the private collection of a Tibetan antique bowl dealer in Nepal, and I have only come across one other in over 30 years of collecting bowls at source.   They almost certainly come from the same forge and master bowl-maker.

This bowl is believed to date from the 18th century is exceptional both physically and musically.  It has a gloriously pure and pulsating third octave B voice (240Hz) with a long sustain when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.

It has been beautifully forged.  It has a gracefully curved form, a smooth lip, a pointed central Lingam, and an attractive deep navel underneath.  The circles at its centre, and the decorative band around the outer rim have been all but worn away with the passage of time, but some rare ritual gashes encircling the rim are still in evidence.

This bowl has wonderfully silky-smooth walls and the most beautiful antique golden bronze colour.  It is in excellent structural condition and free of stains and blemishes.  It comes with a Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer.

A rare and beautiful antique Lingam singing bowl!
