A Set of 2 Rare Large Antique Lingam Singing Bowls

Unparalleled Quality C4 and Close Concert Pitch C#4

This is a rare matched set of two large antique Lingam Singing Bowls…bowls of a similar premium quality, size, weight, condition, physical form and tonality.  In other words bowls that look and sound as though they might have come from the same forge and were made as a set with notes corresponding to the western chromatic scale.

Obviously this was not the case, nor would it ever be, but on seeing and hearing this set one might be forgiven for thinking otherwise.  The truth is, like all chakra or chromatic sets, they have been individually selected from randomly sourced bowls over an extended period of time, perhaps years, and expertly assembled into a set.  This stunning set of rare bowls originally formed part of the private collection of one of our Tibetan bowl dealers.

THE BOWLS

9 ¼-inch Superior Antique Lingam Singing Bowl 1.87 kilos (4 lb 2 oz).

C4 (268Hz) struck and played note (suede ringer).  Root Chakra.

8¼-inch Superior Antique Lingam Singing Bowl 1.5 kilos (3 lb 5 oz).

C#4 (276Hz) close to Concert Pitch struck and played note (suede ringer). Root Chakra.

The bowls are supplied with 2 Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushions, a padded striker and 2 double-ended teak and suede ringers.  The price is for the set of 2 bowls described above.

I would prefer to sell these bowls together as it’s virtually impossible to find matching Lingam bowls of this type and quality.  However, I would consider selling them separately…the larger C4 @ £1,500 and the C#4 @ £1,200.
