Thadobati Singing Bowl
SOLD
Antique Tibetan Singing Bowl. G Note (Throat Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 4 oz (569g). 16 x 8 cm (approx. 6 ¼ x 3 ¼ inches)
A high-sided medium size antique Thadobati singing bowl with a very nice third octave G Sharp voice and a lovely well-rounded sound. The note is the same whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer, but if a wooden ringer is used the note gradually changes to a fifth octave C sharp.
This bowl is relatively light for its size, with exceptionally fine walls, both inside and out, and a remarkably smooth, sensual and tactile surface…the result of years and years of handling and use. This is a pretty bowl with a bright stain-free golden colour. It has a very nice pulsating tone when struck and is extremely easy to play with the double-ended teak and suede ringer that is included in the price.
