This is a tiny and very pretty antique Manipuri Singing Bowl dating from the early 19^th century.  It is particularly nicely decorated for such a small bowl, with a circle of suns (punched dots surrounded by circles) set within a pair of concentric circles in the centre of the basin, and another encircling the outer wall.  The sun motif is continued along the edge of the lip.   Another interesting feature is the band of ritual gashes below the rim.  There is also an incised line just below the inner rim.  This pretty bowl is clean and structurally sound.

This is a very responsive bowl and easy to play.  The fundamental note is a nice middle F#.  A ringer is included in the price.
