Antique Manipuri Singing Bowl – D5 (586/9Hz) – Sacral Chakra

This is a very tiny antique Manipuri Singing Bowl dating from the 19th century. Manipuri bowls are rarely inscribed and small ones almost never…so it is very surprising to find such a tiny bowl with an inscription. When translated the inscription reads ‘Red Brother Warrior’.
Tiny bowls, especially those with rounded bottoms like the Manipuri, are notoriously difficult to play because their lightness and shape make them rotate or spin with the ringer.
However, this particular bowl is so responsive that it sings sweetly with even the lightest touch. The fundamental note is a fifth octave D (586/9Hz) when struck or played around the rim.
This bowl is clean and structurally sound. A Tibetan silk brocade mat and a ringer are included in the price.
