Singing Bowl. A Note (Third Eye Chakra)
Weight 0 lb 7 ¼ oz (205g). 12 x 5 cm (approx. 4 ¾ x 2 inches)
This unusually small old Tibetan Lingam Singing Bowl has an excellent singing voice…a mid octave A fundamental that is surprisingly powerful and virtually concert pitch. The note is the same whether struck or played around the rim with a ringer.
It is a well-made and nicely proportioned little bowl with a low or shallow profile and a slightly out-turned grooved lip. It has a smooth golden collar that contrasts nicely with the dark hammered surface of the outer wall, while the inside is golden.
The lingam at its centre is a gently raised mound rather than the more typical pronounced protrusion, and this is matched on the underside by a gentle impression or navel. There are two decorative circles on the floor of the bowl. This pretty bowl is structurally sound and in good condition for its age. It is sensual and pleasant to hold, and easy to play.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a small teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
