This is a unique 3rd octave set of 10 large antique Lingam Singing and Healing Bowls. Antique Lingam bowls have distinctive physical and sonic qualities, and are used in healing and sacred rituals and ceremonies. They are so rare that most singing bowl collectors and practitioners will never have encountered or handled a single bowl, and even top international bowl dealers seldom have more than one or two for sale, if any, so one can only imagine how special and unique this set of 10 large bowls is.
This set has been gradually assembled by myself from rare Lingams collected in the Himalayas over 30 years, with each bowl painstakingly matched by pitch, octave, size, shape, age and condition. They have been tuned to the fundamental note when hand-held and struck with a padded mallet. In most cases the played rim note is the same. All the bowls have a similar Thadobati form with the distinctive central lingam and navel/yoni underneath, and date from the 18th and 19th Century.
All the bowls are in excellent structural condition and basically unblemished, but with some being cleaner or having a more aged patina than others. Each bowl is supplied with a cushion and ringer.
These bowls have larger diameters and are heavier than those in the 8 bowl set currently on offer. Some other 3rd octave Lingams may occasionally be available to purchase individually on this website if you wish to add to the set.
This is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire quite possibly the only 3rd octave set of 10 large antique Lingams in existence.
