Unique Antique Pedestal Singing Bowl — Powerful & Penetrating Bb5 (911Hz)
SOLD
Antique Singing Bowl – F4 & Bb5 (Heart & Crown Chakras)
Weight 1.0 kilo (2 lb 3 ¼ oz): Size 19 x 5.5 cm (7 ½ x 2 ¼ inches)
This one-of-a kind shallow antique pedestal singing bowl has been cast in bronze in its entirety, rather than being forged and hammered into shape. It is very well made, and heavy, with a slightly downward-sloping flared lip, circles at its centre and also underneath around the raised foot or plinth.
The struck note is a middle F4 (342Hz), while the played rim note is a powerful and penetrating fifth octave Bb5 (911Hz) with a wooden ringer.
This unusual and interesting bowl is in excellent structural condition. It has an attractive deep golden bronze colour with a shiny polished finish, and the look and feel of antiquity. It seems quite likely that it served some ceremonial purpose above and beyond that of a singing bowl.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
