Unusual Antique Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl – Concert Pitch G
SOLD
Unusual Antique Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl. G Note (Throat Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 6 oz (626g). 16 x 9 cm (approx. 6 ¼ x 3 ½ inches)
This antique singing bowl has an interesting and unusual form with its pronounced out-turned and flat grooved lip, low profile and bulbous belly. There are several decorative circles on the inside floor, and some incised banding directly below the out-turned lip. It has a nice golden colour, and is virtually blemish-free and in very good condition.
This rare bowl has a very nice singing voice…a mid octave G that is virtually concert pitch. The note is the same whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a ringer. This is an easy bowl to play, and its shape makes it slightly self-amplifying.
A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
