Antique Jambati Singing Bowl.   Notes: C#2 & G3 (Root & Throat Chakras)

The incredibly finely beaten walls of this large antique Jambati Singing Bowl endow it with such vibrant energy that it will readily produce the powerful OM sound when played around the rim with a suede ringer, and wonderful splashy fountains if struck or played with a little water inside.  Indeed its OM and fountain ability rank among the very best of their kind.

This bowl also produces 3 beautiful notes…the fundamental low second octave C# (68Hz) when struck with a padded mallet, and C#2 (68Hz) or G3  (199Hz) when played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a middle G4 (390Hz) with a wooden ringer.

This bowl is very light for its size and therefore comfortable to hold and play for an extended period without tiring.  It has a sheered lip, circles at the centre, and decorative bands encircling the outer rim.

Thought to date from around 1800 there are some signs of wear, but it is structurally sound, clean and stain-free, with a light surface patina.

A padded striker and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
