This is a very nice quality small antique Thadobati Singing Bowl with a very pretty shape and bags of character.

It is well proportioned and fits snugly in the palm of the hand for playing.  It has thick even walls, a grooved lip and incised banding below the outer rim.  There are two sets of concentric circles at its centre and, unusually, two sets of lines encircling the inner wall at different heights.  These may well be markers for water levels…because this little bowl has talking and fountain abilities!  The fundamental struck and played note is a middle octave E.

A versatile and attractive bowl in good condition, and with the look and feel of antiquity!
