Very Large Jambati Singing Bowl – Inscription & Great Sound
SOLD
Antique Tibetan Jambati Singing Bowl. C Note (Root Chakra)
Weight 4 lb 5 ¾ oz (1.98 Kilos). 28 x 13.5 cm (approx. 11 x 5 ½ inches)
This is a large 11-inch antique Tibetan Jambati Singing Bowl with a superb and low third octave C sharp fundamental note with a long and beautiful sustain. Its C sharp voice is equally nice when played around the rim with a suede ringer.
It is a nicely proportioned deep full-bodied bowl with a grooved lip and a particularly nice boldly incised decorative collar. There are a pair of concentric circles in the centre of the basin that have been worn faint over the years, and there is a small engraved inscription on the outer wall below the collar. The bowl is well crafted, structurally sound, and in excellent condition for its age.
A very attractive good-looking bowl with a great sound! A large brocade bowl cushion, a heavy padded striker, and a large ringer are included in the price.
