Weight 894 grams (1 lb 15 ½ oz ) Size 22.5 x 11 cm (8 ¾ x 4 ¼ inches)
This vibrant antique Ultabati Singing Bowl has an excellent low A2 fundamental (112Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a middle Eb4 (308Hz) with a wooden ringer. Its vibrant energy is capable of producing the OM sound, and fountains if played with a little water inside.
It has the distinctive Ultabati caldron-like form with its scooped collar and sheered and slightly downward-sloping lip. And there are decorative circles at its centre.
It is structurally sound and clean, with a fairly matt brown bronze colour. Antique Ultabati singing bowls are now quite rare.
A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
