This 19th century lingam singing bowl is in great condition, clean and unstained. it has a particularly attractive mottled hammered exterior worn smooth from long use.
It is beautifully proportioned and has an even wall, a sheered lip and a gently rounded bottom. There is an excellent lingam at its centre surrounded and defined be two sets of circles, with a deep matching navel or yoni underneath. Two bands of tiny cuts decorate the outer rim. It has a nice antique golden bronze colour.
This bowl has two lovely voices. The fundamental note is a perfect pitch third octave G#3 (207Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a fifth octave D5 (584HZ) when played with a wooden ringer. It is very responsive and easy to play.
A double ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.
