Excellent Large 11 ½ -inch Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – Perfect Pitch F2/F#2 Cusp

This handsome large Antique Jambati Singing Bowl has a a great voice…a sonorous and low perfect pitch second octave F2 (88Hz) that flickers to F#2 (90Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a perfect pitch middle C4 (261Hz) with a wooden ringer.  It’s very rare for a bowl to have two perfect pitch voices.  It is well proportioned and balances comfortably on the palm for playing.

It has been superbly crafted and has an even and finely hammered wall that reflects the light beautifully.  It has a sheered lip, with a single decorative line forming a collar around the outer rim, and circles at its centre.

This large 19th century Jambati is in fabulous condition…clean, unstained and blemish free, and has a very attractive golden bronze colour.
