Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes: Bb2 & F4 (Crown & Throat Chakras)
Weight 2.56 kilos (5 lb 10 ¼ oz). Size 28 x 14.5 (11 x 5 ¾ inches)
This is a fabulous 11” antique Jambati Singing Bowl with an excellent low 2nd octave Bb2 (117Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede or wooden ringer. The rim note changes to middle F4 (352Hz) with a wooden ringer.
This is an older bowl and quite heavy, probably early 19th century, with a superbly crafted deep-bodied form and closely hammered walls. It has a sheered lip, decorative bands encircling the outer rim, and circles at its centre.
It is in excellent structural condition for its age, and is clean and free of stains. It has a very attractive golden bronze colour with light copper oxidization inside.
A handsome and impressive antique Jambati with a great voice!
A large Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, padded striker, and 2 ringers are all included in the price.
