Majestic 12 ¼” Golden Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – Low F#2 (90Hz) & OM

This majestic antique singing bowl has a diameter of 12 ¼ inches, weighs 2.88 kilos, and is one of the largest in my collection. Antique Jambati bowls approaching anything like this size are extremely rare and sought after for their beautiful and vibrant low octave voices.

This large bowl has a pulsatating second octave F#2 fundamental (90Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim.  Its vibrant energy is such that it will readily produce a low OM with a heavy suede ringer.  This is quite a heavy bowl to hold in the hand and play for an extended period, and is best played with it resting on a mat or bowl cushion.

This impressive singing bowl is believed to date from the early 20th century and has an honest simplicity of form. It has a graceful shape with a sheered lip, and faint circles at its centre.   It is structurally sound, clean and stain-free, and has a particularly lovely bright golden bronze colour inside and out.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, a padded striker and a ringer are all included in the price.
