Antique Lingam Singing Bowl. Notes: F#3 & C#5 (Heart & Root Chakras)

Weight: 1.19 kilos (2 lb 10 oz).  Size: 20 x 10 cm (8 x 4 inches)

If you are looking for a genuinely rare antique medium-size singing bowl with a great voice that looks and feels its age, then this ancient Lingam bowl is perfect!  This responsive and easy to play bowl has an excellent third octave F#3 fundamental (190Hz) when struck with a padded mallet and played around the rim with a suede ringer, and a fifth octave C#5 (540Hz) when played around the rim with a wooden one.

This rare 18th century Lingam has been well-used and a great deal of its original decorative features, including an inscription, on the outer wall have mostly been worn away with the passage of time.  A band of tiny decorative dots encircles the outer rim.

This bowl with its 8-inch diameter is large for a Lingam.  It has a gently curved wall, a sheered lip, and a flat bottom.  There is an excellent lingam surrounded and defined by two sets of circles at the centre, and a deep matching navel or yoni underneath.

It is in excellent structural condition, and has the most incredible and aged patina inside and out, with an attractive deep antique golden bronze colour.

This bowl will not disappoint! A superb choice!

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion, and a padded striker are included in the price.
