Fabulous Rare Superior Quality High-Sided Golden Antique Lingam Singing Bowl

This is a rare and exquisite example of a superior quality antique golden Lingam Singing Bowl.   It is beautifully proportioned and has smooth gracefully curved walls, a flat bottom, and a plain sheered lip.  There is a nice Lingam at its centre surrounded and defined by 2 sets of circles, with a matching yoni or navel underneath.  This is a very old bowl, dating from the 1800s, and the bands of decorative dots that once encircled the outer rim have all but disappeared with the passage of time.  Faint and irregular impressions below the rim and around the wall are probably all that remains of magical or ritual marks.

This beautiful antique singing bowl has a lovely third octave A3 fundamental (215Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. The rim note changes to a fifth octave Eb5 (618Hz) harmonic when played with a wooden ringer.

It is structurally sound, clean and stain-free, with slight copper oxidization, and has a particularly lovely rich golden bronze colour inside and out.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a ringer are included in the price.
