Heavy Large 11 ½” Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – Rare Form & Superb D3 (149Hz)

This large Antique Jambati Singing Bowl has a very nice third octave D fundamental (149Hz) when struck with a padded mallet.  The D3 moves to 146/7Hz when played around the rim with a suede ringer.

This is a heavy bowl with thick hammered walls and an attractive and unusual rounded form.  It has a wide, smooth, and slightly downward sloping triangulated lip.  There are decorative bands encircling the outer rim, but the circles at its centre have been worn away with years of use and ritual cleaning.

This is a top quality bowl with a rather lovely pure voice.  It is structurally sound, virtually free of stains and blemishes, and has a rich golden bronze colour.
