Large Ultra-fine Lightweight Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – Eb3
£980.00
Antique Jambati Singing Bowl. Notes Eb4 & B4 (Solar Plexus & Crown Chakras)
Weight 1.43 kilos (3 lb 2 oz). Size 26.5 x 11.5 cm (10 ½ x 4 ½ inches)
This is an ultra-fine walled 18th century Jambati Singing Bowl in exceptionally nice condition. Weighing less than 1 ½ kilos its fine walls make it very light for its size and therefore easy to hold and play for an extended period.
The fundamental note is a third octave Eb3 (159Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer. It has a relatively long sustain. The rim note changes to a middle B4 (484Hz) with a wooden ringer.
It has a smooth and gracefully curved wall with a triangulated grooved lip and a slightly rounded bottom. There are decorative bands encircling the outer rim, and circles at its centre.
It has a lovely golden bronze colour, and is structurally sound, clean, and free of stains and blemishes.
A padded striker and a ringer are included in the price.
