Lightweight Golden 9 ¼” Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – Nice G#3 (202Hz)

This 19^th century medium size Jambati Singing Bowl dates has a lovely third octave G#3 fundamental (202Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a ringer.

It has very fine walls that make it unusually light for its size, and therefore relatively easy to hold and play for an extended period, rather than resting it on a mat or cushion, as is often the case with larger bowls.

This bowl has seen a lot of use over the years and the grooved rim and circles at its centre have been worn smooth, as has the bowl’s wall which lessens the weight and actually improves the sound quality.  However, it remains a lovely old bowl… physically attractive, clean, nice to hold and play, and structurally sound, with an attractive golden bronze colour.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.
