Nice Medium 9 ¼” Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – G3 & D5

This is a well-forged and nicely proportioned medium-size antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a particularly powerful third octave G fundamental (191Hz) and long sustain when struck with a padded mallet or played with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a fifth octave D (580Hz) with a wooden ringer.   It is a very responsive bowl and easy to play.

This antique Jambati bowl has a wide triangulated lip, circles at its centre, and boldly incised decorative bands forming a collar around the outer rim. It is in excellent structural condition, clean and stain-free, with some light spots of copper oxidization inside.
